Not "A Good Day"

Michelle Malkin blogged today, that it was "a good day for conservatism". She was right. Conservatives everywhere should be dancing in the steet. In the great "Us versus Them" war, the conservatives get to make another chaulk mark next to their name.

Yeah! That showed 'em! We'll teach those twinkle-toed, knee-jerk, lefty pooftahs!

This is what this country had degenerated into? Congratulations to the "Leadership" of the United States Of America. Wait...Something doesn't quite sound right, here. United...States...of....That's it. Anybody wanna tell me, exactly where this country is united?..On what front?

(Enter Richard Dawson's Voice)

Richard Dawson: We asked the political parties in this country, "On which fronts are the Republicans and Democrats united?

Contestant: The War on Terror?

Richard Dawson: "SURVEY SAYYYYS!!!"

BLONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNK!!!

Contestant: The Economy

Richard Dawson: SURVEY SAYYYS!!!

BLONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNK!!!

Right now the political parties in this country can't agree on what to order for lunch. My question is this: Has anyone bothered to ask the American people what they wanted? The answer to that is a resounding, "Hell No!"

See, our Congressmen and Senators are under the imression that their job is to decide what is in the best interest of their constituents. I, very well could be wrong. But, I have always been under the impression that it is the job of our elected officials to vote on things according to the WILL OF THIER CONSTITUENTS. I know for a fact that my particular represenative in Congress, Mr. Mike Rogers, has NEVER BOTHERED HIMSELF with finding out what his constituents' will for him is. The way I see it, a leader that acts without the consent of the population or against the will of the population, is nothing more than a dictator. The way things look to me right now, America is a nation ruled by just over 500 little dictators. I realize that sounds a little extreme. These are extreme times. I truly believe that the "leadership" of this nation has lost touch with the ideals that founded this great nation.

At this point is this World's history, mankind is fighting for it's very survival. Every major Empire that ruled throughout history, eventually grew so big that it crumpled in on itself. Whenever the people stopped trying to better themselves and began to pleasure themselves they were inevitably overrun. I fear that this Great Nation that is the Untited States Of America, is setting itself up for the "Big Crumple" in more ways than one. I fear that we, as a nation, have lost our heading. We've become too self-involved as individuals, that we have forgotten what it means to be a good citizen. There is a time to reap the benefits of prosperity but something of value must be sewn, first. And what, exactly, are our values? That's a good question. I know what they used to be.

Here is an excerpt from an email I recieved this week. It was from my older brother regarding something discussed on Redneck Radio News this past weekend. I think he says it more eloquently than I.

No school of political thought will successfully govern without acknowledging virtue, and abiding by those precepts in public and private. The last two administrations are a shocking attribution of that previous statement. It's also obvious that America is divided on what constitutes virtue. Bill Clinton's infidelity was contrary to the virtues of Honesty, Integrity, and Loyalty. But many Americans find it easy to excuse. George Bush's policy of detaining suspected terrorists without probable cause, and attempts to hide it, violate the virtues of Justice, Honesty, Integrity, and Temperance. A good many Americans find that easy to excuse as well. Neither administration has any shame for doing what they have done. Their lack of a sense of virtue, or religious faith will allow them to be justified in their actions. This is wrong, this has to stop and it has to stop now.

Virtues must be seen as non-negotiable. Living publicly and privately by these virtues has to be seen to have value. There can be no relative value systems. All virtues have to be seen as having equal value. They must be taught, and must be established in the rule of law. No religion, or law can excuse them either. No judge, legislator, soldier, or executive can be seen as being above them. Until this happens, our country will continue to languish in mediocrity, and we will destroy what we have sought so hard to protect.

I bid you Peace.
